>>60152440Funny you mention that. I always thought that an underrated part of aislop was the backgrounds. Their vagueness, low detail, and nonsensical construction make it look like they're from a dream. Like they look okay when you look at the objects in the foreground, but when you focus on them they fall apart. And that dreamy feeling makes it easy to immerse yourself in escapism.
Of course a skillfully created hand drawn background is still superior, but I think the ability to mass produce these is not insignificant.
