I am listening to archived Cultured Thug videos explaining Hitler's philosophy and religion, based on quotes from primary sources such as Mein Kampf. Some of it was entirely expected, such as his philosophy being primarily influenced by Nietzsche and Schopenhauer - particularly in the concept of Will to Power. On the other hand, learning that personal friends of his apparently published biographies affirming that he confessed Christ as his "Lord and Savior" was a shocking, but pleasant, surprise. He was still ultimately a child of enlightenment ideologism, and I think his view of the relationship between state and society puts the cart before the horse... but I can definitely appreciate why a man of his character and prodigious intellect was so popular and well-respected in his time. And, why so much effort has been expended to reshape him into the Literally Satan of the modern global liberal paradigm.
