I moved to a cracked copy of TVPaint and it's way faster for the sort of low-budget, low-effort nonsense I'm going for.

https://files.catbox.moe/sngbja.gif) I had to go over each frame and remember the eraser isn't pressure sensitive and the flood fill tool uses a naive algo with zero gap tolerance even MS Paint stopped using and only references the current layer. Shit was painful.
