Tone was one note, acting was middling, and the actual storyline is some of the most underthought scifi I've seen in years. They wrote a science fiction movie with all these hardline scifi designs and concepts and they just forgot that cellphones exist, and the internet, and batteries, and honestly pretty much everything. They also forgot that characters should have a range of emotions and motives. It's like a team of artists who love scifi and have a deep understanding of both the science and fiction sides were put together with a director who heard the term "AI" and wrote a script about it despite not having used any electronics newer than the transistor radio.
