But it's true, the peoples that populated the American continent before the arrival of the Europeans were descended from Siberians. There's an unbroken genetic spectrum from western europe that extends across the steppe into asia and from there across the Bering Strait into America and all the way south to Chile.
You see occasional atavisms that reflect this. Toshiro Mifune even played Mexican roles in Mexican cinema (although he couldn't speak Spanish and had to have his lines dubbed in afterward.)
