Since an update on December 3th, a lot of channels have seen a drop around 30~50% in live viewers, mostly japanese or vtubers related
youtube twitter has thousands of replies a day so it's hard to find them adressing it but I could find some directly aknowledging the issue

comparing the stats of vtubers videos before and after the bug, there's a clear difference, for example
