I think the key’s to combine the thread’s activity and memes, how you interpret them as a culture, and how this world functions. I don’t know much about /wAIfu/
although Liora talking to her AI counterpart yesterday’s pretty fun but I think it has a pretty clear theme and a lot of memes of its own, so they should work well as material for your work!
As for integrating it into this world, I think it’s important to remember that we’re often the product of our environment especially before modern times, so you should keep in mind what kind of climate and biome /wAIfu/ has here and read on how real life cultures from similar environment adopt to their surroundings. That should give you a pretty decent idea of how the people will generally go on about their day and a solid foundation to build on.
Personally I think the part you have to invent on your own’s the institution of the country, things like government and religion and so on since most of the time the thread and the source material won’t provide much. On the other hand it also means you’ll have more leeway on how to do those things if you’re into that!
