My honest Lia year in review
January
>started off well. Had some great creative streams and some good collabs including the first ever Phase/hololive collab which is company history in and of itself. Streamed consistently. Sad news with kamioshi graduating, but that's life in the big city.
February
>kept the wave going and things were good, but then she dropped the Japan bomb on Valentines Day. Felt like it let the air out of the balloon. IMO this is when her year started to take a negative turn because it felt like we were being given a death clock no matter how much she reassured she will still stream.
March
>Fashion collabs became a real highlight and IMO her best content this year, but consistency becomes an issue again.
April
>Missed most of it because of Japan trip #1, that's ok everybody needs vacation. Came back and immediately thrown in forced Phase Wars streams, which wore her jetlagged ass out. Also the random arc of the NEED for female viewership, which just made her more lost. Felt like she was being given bad guidance, but who knows. Hey her kamioshi is back at least.
May
>started out on fire with Mint fashion collab and some quality deep dives plus dog food. Then the addiction happened and she just disappeared for 2 weeks without communication so she could play it off stream. first half of May was GOAT. second half of May was an absolute disaster.
June
>with FF14-day crack binge over, she was gonna come back, but her sister came into town on a shock visit so we got 1 collab with her and no streams the rest of the week. It's family so it's understandable but unfortunate because she just took the prior 2 weeks off. She then disappeared the next week because of Offkai. Hey, the first Lippa meetup after 3 years! And they kissed! also the first ever Lia cosplay was seen! Was poised to comeback strong with a Filian/Sakana collab, but her granpa died so she missed another week understandably. June was largely another month to forget and the hits just kept on coming.
July
>she continued to be lost and out of it until the last week where she had a strong collab with Filian/Pippa/Lumi, the ERP stream with Rie. Ended on a high note and, hey, maybe the tables were turning?
August
>started with an immediate shot of adrenaline to the heart with the announcement of the NYC concert with Mint. Not a lot of streams, but for good cause. Makes her 3D debut and her main stage debut alongside her kamioshi all on the same day. Lia stole the show with her dancing and changed the way everybody viewed her, and made some people notice her for the first time. a dream month. and she had 3 Lia cosplays show up to see her perform!
September
>much anticipated outfit debut and strong month of streams. riding the high of NYC. She started getting on a roll again.
October
>consistency better and content improved. Kino halloween stream to end it. Bonus points for being in Mint's video game she made and she even got to supply a voice line for it!
November
>started well, but mysteriously became inconsistent again bailing on streams and cancels. We found out why later. At the end of the month Lia found herself in an official Apex sponsored esports tournament with Dokibird and made some new friends with Bao and Uto. Glad she was in it and hope she does more stuff like that to expand her horizons.
December
>a career defining performance at the Vtuber Awards and debuting her original song in front of tens of thousands of live viewers. also announces she is opting out of Japan school.
She really got lost and directionless after Valentines Day and for a while it felt like this was a lost year. However, Lia is THE comeback kid and once again proved her resilience, something that has become a common thing for her. it's a marathon not a sprint, and her last 5 months were amazing with once-in-a-lifetime moments that are typically impossible dreams, but she waited for her moment and 2024 was the year she became what she always wanted: an idol.
Really it was the most Lia year a Lia could have.
