>>62589720You know I did this test before in a similarly old thread but fuck it let's do it again. Brand new tab opened in an incognito window with a search for vtuber on YT and filtered by live vs looking at the vtuber tag on Twitch. Here's what the first 24 results on each site gives.
Number chosen because Twitch displays 6 streams per row so it's 4 rows downTwitch: 5 flesh streamers misusing the tag (xqc, Mizkif, xop0, Tectone, and APlatypuss)
19 vtubers (Nyanners, Enviosity, LunaOni, Geega, LaynaLazar, Ratopia, Bao, stegi, Trickywi, Emikukis, MurderCrumpet, ぷてぃちゃん, 쿠우0_0, , Amalee, Miyunie, ZilverK, DyaRikku, CyYuVtuber, and Kirsche)
With a dropdown menu you can filter out of Twitch's algo into Most Viewers, Least Viewers, or streams that just started.
Youtube's results are so messy I'm just going to list them out.
3 24/7 AI streams (at least they have models up? typecastglobal, VTuber-rw4zm, and AI_Vtuber)
2 News channels (one is being read by an automated TTS vtuber model? newslivebyvtuber4489 and Taiwan SETNEWS)
4 actual streamers having past archives run 24/7 (mikannovocal, hinatakinaco, hitohutakiri, and iramiYT. That last one is iffy because it's AI, but it's not live 24/7)
2 Member's stream (why are these even in the results? zakiV, and MeongCit)
13 actually live streamers (Mari Yume, Finana, Rekson, Flayon, Kori-Oujo, HisenVTuber, r322cgaming, RuiEventide, RanTsukiha, venaliazure7891, ladyoka, Avarice_Incarnate, and d1ne)
And just for shits and giggles one of those actual live streamers as I'm sure any /lig/ger will tell you is Rekson, who is a Twitch streamer. He's only live on YT thanks to restreaming and it's not even his primary platform.
Of course, if you try and filter the results to get things more tailored to you then you get booted out of the live tag so you can't easily.
Anyway that's what we're dealing with here and it's easy to see why Twitch wins.
