>>96140346If you want to play one that just works and doesn't require any setup, AC7 because it's the most recent and made for modern systems. It's kind of one of the worst entries in the series though, and unlike most of the games which are standalone, it makes heavy references to previous games.
If you want to play one of the good ones, emulate the "Holy Trinity" of the PS2 games, 04, 5, and Zero. Like 90% of Ace Combat fans will have one of those 3 games as their favorite, and for good reason.
There's also nothing wrong with just playing Project Wingman. It's an Ace Combat fan game made by an Ace Combat fan for Ace Combat fans, but it's still a fantastic game that absolutely stands on its own. Honestly there's a lot of people who prefer it to Ace Combat because it makes some cool tweaks to the formula like more customization in the loadouts.
