Otsonny!! Yeah... yeah I can tell this is gonna be another favorite series of mine, this was a good stream. He started off by purifying agata forest and we meet a mysterious and very french swordsman before this kid kokari sends us off to some ruins to save a fellow dog in need. The zelda-esque dungeon teaches us a new trick or two, and fetching ume thankfully doesn't prove too troublesome. Enemy design in this game is good but kinda scary at times, maybe it's for the best that I missed out on it as a kid since I'm sure the eyes and hands on that spider queen would have traumatized me. In general okami has pretty smooth gameplay, but a few times this stream sonny once again proves his worst enemies are 1. game cameras 2. tedium and 3. his own stubbornness in playing keyboard+mouse. Sometimes that's funny (like when watching him fight with poorly aged game design e.g. the log in the rapids), sometimes it makes me roll my eyes. I'd say those moments were mostly in the minority though. We spent a lot of time helping kokari today but also a lot of time just exploring or fucking around, there's something really satisfying about just watching the core gameplay loop... the fluidity of the movement when running around or in battle, feeding animals, and of course the OST is incredible. This along with sonny's voice/commentary makes for a comfy stream that I almost hate waking up to... his brief outbursts over tense moments like the fishing minigame or almost turning into sisyphus keep me from falling back asleep though. As always it's a blessing to get more of his VA although he's generally not taking it anymore seriously than he usually does, you'll get some "serious" narration and then chad issun or the aforementioned french waka. Variety is the spice of life! I also appreciate him continuing to embrace his inner canine to really immerse himself in the role of amaterasu... I really wanna give headpats. Okami seems to be pulling him in a lot (even if he mentioned not being blown away by the story so far), feels like another game that he'll easily get lost in and go for hours which makes me happy.
