I'm not sure what the hell Cover is thinking using it, it is seriously the single most unfun thing that Minecraft is trying to implement because you literally DON'T HAVE to play the gacha and only really need to do it if you plan on min maxing which most players won't do.
Mending and unbreaking isn't required for the dragon, it isn't required for any regular content, it's only really required for elytra which you don't even need it for that either if you stay awake and decide to shoot down some Phantoms. It just makes the game more tedious. Like even for fucking diamond armor you don't need it at all to beat the game, so why gatekeep it so hard if people bother to go off building a fucking trade hall? It's one of those things where Mojang is clearly out of touch.
