She believes in the goodness of people even if everything else is shit and genuinely wants others to be kind to one another, leading to this aspiration she's had that she wants to be a force for good, as well as all those so-called "white girl posts" that certain people here are needlessly dismissive of.
You're probably not wrong that part of it also came from being personally hurt, but I certainly don't blame her for feeling that in that moment. People are extremely cruel to her for no good reason, and it's stupid to expect her to be infallible all the time or to say her getting emotional over all this is "cringe" (like someone said yesterday). Pathos is not cringe.
