Asbestos by itself’s relatively easy to cut or even torn so that probably won’t make great armor. It’s fibrous though so I think you can make something resilient yet soft like gambeson if you weave it with other material! The /vnug/ fabric’s actually implied to be like that as well (I’m thinking mycelium fabric and maybe something from insects)
