Gura' network routing either to new server IP or through newly setup firewall is probably fucky enough to cause that. E.g. I get shitty connection like that to image servers of one manga site that I use, for no apparent reason.
So what Gura should do is use a tool like WinMTR to gauge packet loss to minecraft server and screenshot it into Cover faces if it's anything above 1%.
