Oh well, I wonder if mega twisters would be an issue with the climate dichotomy. I can see a very extensive system of underground networks that could be used to house the civilization and create new tech, but that's in the future, both the conceptual future and the temporal feature!
I think this is the kind of thing that I want to play around with in terms of a sci fi setting, a mix of both cool planetary features that actually exist and how a civilization would exist in them and improvised space tech that's more of a shrug and a nudge towards the more chaotic and pulpy nature of alot of sci fi. Need to start working on my own planet and its deal since alot of the worldbuilding for a civilization seems like it would start here
