for fuck's sake I AM NOT CALLIOPE MORI, every goddamn time I do this you numbskulls keep calling me Calliope Mori for months on end because apparently she's the only one capable of both visiting 4chan and understanding English lyrics.
>>20758215I am music theory schizo though, and I am fully off my meds, so here we go. I'll try to keep these shorter since nobody besides my oshi can read:
>2. 「Q」Gonna be honest, this is the one where I can kind of agree that it doesn't really fit narratively, which I'll chalk up to DECO*27 being too expensive to boss around
which is why it's too goddamn short and Gura's influence taking things in other directions. But there's enough parallels that I don't mind it being there, namely the "Beast vs Beats" conflict from the climax of UnAlive.
>あぁ 壊しちゃいたい>モノにしちゃいたいGura represents the "hungry wolf", the "that kind of beast", the "never-ending ouroboros" that can't stop craving the crowd's approval.
>Give you a "kiss", goodnight, that "prey" you're stalking's got bite>Talkin' shit? You only exist to get pissed and fightHere Mori's "begging the Beats to cease", seeing them as a predator where Gura sees them as prey, something to defend your well-being and artistic integrity from. The dramatization's as powerful as the sakuga set to it, but neither really reflects the Bone Bros' real feelings. That's what them joining up in the end represents - Both perspectives, opposed as they are, are true at the same time for every performer, and you need both to survive the weight of "queendom" in the public eye. But it's a bit hostile, especially in isolation, suggesting that Mori and Gura and the rest can only survive by becoming cold heartless bitches who prey on their subby simps.
>3. Dead On ArrivalOh LOOK! An underground-style electro-swing song about Mori being a cold heartless bitch who preys on her subby simps! I'm not gonna outline every single way she's playing the part of "Mori Alter" here, but it's mostly just her claiming to only be in it for the money and yes-man ass-pats:
>Collar round your neck, praise me>Or spend the rest of your days>In a cage 'til you pay meSeeing herself as an exploitative casino owner who looks down on her pathetic patrons:
>What kind of hand do you possess, Dead Beat?>Ha-ha, I bet it's shit, Imao-o-o-o>Reap, collect your lives>Then sell 'em at a high price (Good deal)And also the chuuni parts where she claims personal responsibility for ruining the life of everyone who ever lived. This is Masked Mori, the version of her that exists in antis' minds (the biggest anti of all, of course, being herself). On the surface, it's about her character bio how she used to be a licensed mass-murderer pre-hiatus, but the death imagery also calls back to the inevitable end she described back in Red - that no matter what, every single one of us will die and then be forgotten, so nothing matters. Death may be a bitch, but so's life. Whatcha gonna do about it?
