Going against the core audience of your product will never work even if you enact perfect information control for a simple reason: the great majority of people, unlike what successful company might give the impression, aren't really "loyal" to a brand.
They just won't move away if there is no sufficient reason to do that and being alienated by the brand usually IS sufficient reason.
