>>26480920Making a 3D model is a lot more work both to make and to set up. You need to draw a reference from multiple angles. You need to model it and check for holes and gaps from all angles. You need to texture it and set shaders for it. You need to rig and debug it to make sure the limbs don't break. After it's ready to go, the vtuber will need to position and angle it correctly in the face tracking software which some vtubers may not be tech-savvy enough to do on their own. One 3D model is essentially worth 6 Live2D models since it gives you 6 possible angles from the X, Y, and Z axes but also because it takes 6 times as long to make. All that freedom of movement is simply not worth the trade off for the amount of work it requires for the average stream.
