Klara attracts ghosts, which is why she and Twisty are already affiliated by the time Ryoma gets hired. Ryoma is a samurai, and samurai have not existed for two hundred years, so he is also a ghost but just doesn't know it because he is canonically afraid of ghosts and every time Klara and Twisty try to break it to him he gets spooked and runs away like Scooby Doo. The real reason they insist on the mansion not being haunted is for Ryoma's mental health. Klara is the only real person, and may or may not be schizophrenic.
