Many of our companies are now paying money hand over fist to ship their own materials to themselves. It's like he wants to abandon Capitalism and go back to the Mercantilism of the 15th century that it rendered extinct for good reason.
A lower court recently ruled that these tariffs are unconstitutional for this reason and more, but sadly we won't see anything binding on the subject until Spring of '26, when the supreme court comes back into session.
