I've never played Apex because my computer can't handle it, only watched Astel and I can follow what he's doing and why, and I'm an EOP on top of that. It should be even easier to grasp when you understand their language.
I will say it's better to play with friends. Even Astel who's played solo for hundreds of hours says you should be playing Apex with friends.
