I'm guessing Niji takes an absolutely absurd proportion of the income, and feeds the talents excuses like "at least you're getting 3D-live out of it, isn't that nice?" And it turns out that, all along, the money just went to Riku's yacht fund. This shattered the illusion and forced the talents to accept that they're being strongarmed and they always have been.
