If you want to write but you don't do it, I don't think you really love writing, probably not the hobby for you. I imagine you'd like to express the ideas you have, and writing can achieve that, but it is only a means to an end. Personally I enjoy the act of writing itself and that's why whenever I get an idea, I go straight to writing, or I did, when I was still a young lad full of heart.
