Nijisanji for sure has higher costs as well, but who knows how much more? This can include more staff, more for licenses, more for marketing... whatever a vtuber agency spends money on, I'm not in that business, but I'm aware of the fact that a company that makes x money may do better than a company that makes x+|y| money.
Don't get me wrong, my oshi is Pomu, but you need to look past those surface level numbers to fully understand them. Also, SCs aren't the only source of income, there's also merch and memberships etc. I bet that Pomu alone could push Lazulight above Iluna if it was just for merch for example. Or Selen for Obsydia. And you can bet that the Holo girls make much more in Memberships than any Niji EN just because their channels are much bigger.
