Chumbie... transhumanism is not the same as subduing the Earth. Our purpose is not to try and replace the oikonomia with an artificial one and try to "restore" Eden - He will do that when He comes in His Kingdom. Our purpose is to repent and become like Christ that we may inherit a share in His kingdom and participate in His divinity. To be "idle" does not mean "not trying to be immortal", it means failing to repent and help our fellow man to repent; our mission is to become saints and to thereby be participants in His work, namely, the salvation of souls. Who told you that it's to try and create a counterfeit of Eden? Because that, among other things, is what we would actually expect the devil to tell us - making a mockery of faith by masking rebellion and attempted usurpation as loyalty and obedience. Appealing to our pride, our intellect, our Faustian spirit, to try and turn us against the teachings of the Church... it's a classic demonic ploy, going all the way back to Nimrod and the Tower of Babel. Don't you see that?
