It's at least a compelling read but the actual 'action' of the beating scene just felt empty and lacking of the rage and feeling that it's supposed to have. It tries to convey that the reader insert is pissed beyond belief through the actions and all caps use but the narration staying 'objective' makes it feel hollow, and while there's a part of me that thinks this may be intentional I'm pretty sure the author intended for it to be a traditional emotional climax followed by a twist ending.
