Not sure if it's an EN Dub problem or a Selen being dumb problem, or (most likely) both...For one thing the H in Mahito is actually silent in Japanese lol, bloody Y*nks at it again butchering Japanese Names/Words in their Dubs reeeeeee!! Also, I think the whole "Sea is Cursed" line isn't meant to be taken literally, since the Pelican who said it was talking more in general about how there's literally nothing for them in that world let alone food...
