Backstory for those who care. WotC, producers of mtg, had a big celebration last year for their 30th anni. They said they were going to put out a bunch of product to remember and celebrate the history of the game. The biggest product they hyped was a non-game-legal reprint of the original set, alpha/beta with a different back than a normal magic card and different art. Some people were hyped, and then on the same stream they announced that 4 packs of it would cost $1000. Everything prior to this with a limit has sold out on their site within an hour of going up, but they put up this tweet and took down the sale of them after 5 hours. Everyone assumed they didn't sell anywhere near the limited amount they made.
