>>83162775>>83163094The most insane thing about Doki Doki Literature Club that nobody really talks about is that it was made using Ren'py as the engine. Which is just utterly insane. Ren'py is inherently a super basic and limited engine designed only for very generic VNs. It's a super barebones engine in general, but the programmer for DDLC is an absolute freak who did shit that nobody else has figured out how even to this day. He literally did stuff that other people on the staff making this game didn't know was possible. I actually worked with the BG artist for this game on a failed project and he talked about how the programmer was an absolute wizard. It's utterly insane what this game does using such a simple ass engine.
