There is one crucial problem with Remilia, and that really is her voice that filters people. If she were to talk more naturally I'm convinced she'd get better and more consistent viewership. Her position is also hard due to her timeslot, but that can and should be remedied through vigorous action. She needs to get rid of the voice, or even just tone it down just a little bit. There's no inherent issues with her content, theme, or choice of game or anything of the sort. I am utterly convinced that it really is just a voice issue, but this got me thinking about her as a whole. Remi's keyfabe is super strong and she may have more than ample and legitimate reasons to hide herself as much as possible. This isn't a problem, but she needs a better instrument (voice) to do it. Something with a lower pitch, not as high. She is such an odd person that it's very hard to discern where she begins and keyfabe ends, and I think this has subtly hurt her. If you look at other girls you will notice the inevitable glimpse behind the curtain. Be it Pippa or Panko or Shiina, they will eventually share their worries, doubts and menhera with us. This is part of the appeal. We love to support them and listen to their troubles. Venting like that is an integral part of the appeal of vtubers – and Remi doesn't or cannot do that to the same degree. This makes it hard for us, the audience, to truly become invested in her. She keeps us at arms length. But saying this isn't really helpful, it's merely stating a problem that she may not be able to fix. As I mentioned, she may have legitimately good reasons to hide herself as much as she can, so saying this kinda makes me feel like an asshole. On the other hand, she truly is a hard worker and has a lot of discipline and drive. Her humor is also odd and eccentric, and that's a definite plus. It's her unique feature that makes her stand out in the company. I want to see her grow. Two basic points would be for her to tonally lower her voice a bit and if, IF possible relax the keyfabe. Naturally all of you are free to disagree, this is all just my opinions. Phase love!
