They proudly boasted of the fact that they made a shit ton of money in their recent Quarterly Earnings reports (Net sales up 91% over the year-earlier period, operating profit up 139.5% from the year-earlier period, quarterly net profit up 154.2% from the year-earlier period). They aren't a small tiny indie company anymore, they're publicly traded. Considering the huge mark up, they could probably stand to increase the merch cut to 10% at minimum and not see a huge loss in profit.
And despite how much the livers shill this low quality merch that people were disappointed with for how generic and copy-pasted it is, they still only get 2% despite the company being around for 5 years or so. People only buy the merch in the hopes it supports their oshis, to pretty much toy with the fans like that, they deserve all the shit they get.
