>>80050655While your confusion is understandable, the use of the term "graduation" does come from the jp odol industry, graduation is a common term used to describe vtubers who officially stop vtubing. It may originate from idols but it is also very common in JP vtuber circles. Since vtubing in the west is heavily inspired by and emulates aspects of JP vtubing, the term graduation felt appropriate.
