>>83269585that's where trap cards come in, facedowns that are designed to protect your strategy from your opponents counter plays that can be ether played around or even targeted for destruction leads to a healthier format, im never mad when i get hit by a facedown mirror force, because it was my fault for not putting enough backrow removal in my deck or not playing around it, but when i get nibbed it feels like shit because there is much less in terms of counter play. in YGO hand traps a necessary evil due to it's speed, but im slower games there is no excuse for such shit design. i guess the only excuse is that in magic, there's no such thing as a facedown so the only counterplay to those forms of interactions is to handrip
