In that case, and if they're high up, the young birbs will have a very hard time flying and will more likely fall and not recover. So I get that concern, but the birb could also jump up there and pop out the window exactly the same anyway. Must be because they're high up and the panes are thicker than the average house window, which might cause them more damage. Thing is, birbs will fly into shit even if it isn't a transparent wall. Typically they only do it once and then figure out they can't go that way, but blinds / shades and stuff will help with that.
