You are all fucking deluded if you think any vtuber employs kayfabe in a meaningful way.
Most people aren't that good at playing a character in an improv scenario, let alone for hours at a time, let alone multiple days a week, for years on end.
The ONLY vtubers who are properly someone "playing a role" are the ones who are pre-recorded or who only appear on rare, planned occasions such as Bubi, Cimrai or VuloLives.
Any vtuber who does this full-time? No fucking shot.
Vtubers, by and large, are just an elevated version of themselves.
The ONLY difference a corpo contract makes is that they have to get approval on everything, which inherently limits what they can do or say.
And that sure as hell isn't playing a character.
