At one point they asked for ownership of a booru, then requested it be deleted. The admins deleted the booru then freaked out when they realized it was a troll and tightened everything up after that. I think the admins just don't give a shit anymore and are looking for excuses to not deal with shit.
I can attest to the software being vulnerable. I've witnessed people manage to find backdoors and create accounts on locked boorus with impossible join dates. If you're REALLY desperate someone could probably weasel admin access on an abandoned booru.
