i find that leaning languages is easy when you can already speak more than one....monolinguals tend to have a harder time learning....the only advice i can give as an N3 self learner is to immerse yourself in the language, try reading childrens storybooks if you can read hiragana and katakana, maybe read NHK easy to learn kanji, do mock tests, and make japanese friends...the more opportunities you have to speak it, the easier learning becomes ! if you can afford it, maybe start looking for japanese classes or if you have the confidence you can hop on vrc and speak with others, there's worlds like EN-JP exchange which last i check used to be pretty active ! other than that... maybe you can invest in workbooks or textbooks? those never worked for me since i'm lazy...but it worked for alban so it might work for you !

NTA but when i first started learning jp as a kid, i used to spend time writing all the characters on paper so i would remember the shape. if possible, you can try to write the whole line up for あ、か、さ、た、な and all its aiueo variants then, you test yourself by not looking a cheat sheet and write all of it down again, then practice what you missed and once you get those down you can move on to the rest. same process for katakana. i did learn jp as a child so it was probably a lot easier to soak up the language but with enough effort i think it's very possible to learn hira and kata in about 2 weeks ! the hard part comes with kanji, grammer and vocab in my opinion !
