On the original point, she would not budge outside conceding that her argument standed on a blank slate of Schrodinger's Wizard, where the wizard has everything perfectly prepared to answer anything in any scenario which isn't how D&D plays out, often the wizard is straining on resources or prepared specific spells for anticipated encounters. I showed her a build that could counter an e20 wizard in Pathfinder, but after rolling the stats it comes down to who wins initiative even with Schrodinger's Wizard powers. Wizard has the most options but claiming they are the absolute best and invalidate everything is missing the point of D&D. I make really mean wizard builds but they have their flaws and roles just as the fighter does as tank and probably highest capstone DPR among base, single classes.
