Leaving it up to the imagination is a lot more fun for a lot of people and makes the ship more interesting because you can come up with more content for it. However people who use the terms "pandering" and bait" too much just come off as pick-mes and give off an "I'm not like other fujoshi I'm more cultured and different" feel. If the vtubers are pushing it a lot and handing you the fanservice on a platter, I wouldn't say it's a good or bad thing but I see how not everyone may want that. There's no "bad" ships really, just everyone having different tastes.
