If you want to get rid of news-vtubers you have to kill the v-tubing fandom off.
That said there are different qualities of reporting: how the topic is handled and the research put in. And the import the subject matter: how relevant does the news impact the people around the interests. Covering Idol being acquired or V-tubing advancing in the west are relevant and making sure you use facts are important. Covering v-tuber x or y being sad or their gossip and getting all your info from a reddit thread is not as important and can be in poorer taste.
News coverage and reporting aren't bad and necessary But the quality of coverage and the need of covering a subject can vary.
