"Just quit your job and find another" is probably a good idea if you're someone like Marine and have the kind of social security support she does in Japan; Australia is pretty mediocre that way though, and I'm far from being a social butterfly like she is (autistic, on top of a couple years older).
I expressed a desire to return to study at some point in the future, and management at my old place basically showed me the door then kicked me out within 3 months. Couldn't find a new one after that because lolCOVID downsizing and no one wants to hire a sperg, and now 8 months later expenses plus inadequate welfare payments have eaten through my savings. It's hard enough to get any job these days, let alone focusing on finding one that pays better than my crappy and abusive previous job.
