There are female likers of anime girls believe it or not and they're not gay. Whether because they want to aspire to anime or for cosplay reasons they love that shit. Even collect figures/oppai mousepads and the like. Becoming an anime vtuber and getting into a relationship with another 'anime girl' can be compelling for them for the same reason that women tends to slightly crazed when it comes to fandoms.
A good example of this is Flare. Whilst it's pretty obvious that she's not actually gay with Noel, it's kind of an open secret that she's a big fan of FureaNoel stuff. Like really big. To the point that she' actually clingy with Noel irl (which is funny because in-chartater Noel is supposed to be the clingy one). She is literally a fangirl of her own fictional character and her relationship to Noel - weird as a concept as that may be.
