>>99967936>>99968033I remember when gyarus were mostly seen as the forever bully / mean girl clique that always antagonized the MC or FemC. Nowadays we almost only see the bright "kind to otakus" sub-archetype of gyarus like Kitagawa Marin.
Not to say I dislike it, but I wonder what changed in the culture to allow this kind of character to overtake the medium so much. I guess old authors were bullied by them while they were young, while the current ones were born in an era where everyone was friendly and familiar with the anime / otaku culture?
I'm going way off topic with this, but the shift is pretty interesting to me. Also, I personally really like the expressionless / cold sub-archetype of gyarus. Definitely my favorite.
