>>20528698I think that's kind of doubtful, considering that the northern edge of /ppt/ bulge would be somewhere near the same latitude of Rudolf Island (near 60 E). Considering that the pre-industrial sea ice concentration in that area is higher than that of the Northwest Passage (see north of Baffin Island), I feel it's hard to say it's truly navigatable by ships alone. They might need something like sleds to cart goods across the ice sheet between boat trips.
