To tap into that you need IPs with high "liquidity": i.e. you want something that's only a name and maybe a broad concept. If you do, you're not limited by mediums and content forms, and can mix and match your IPs with ads however you want to.
Any ad deal requires a huge amount of background work. Now multiply that by JP business process autism and the girls are probably getting nightmare schedules full of meetings, meetings and more meetings.
Note how nobody's really complaining about idol activities, but show me a single normal person who likes business meetings.
