Mel what is your take on the latest Unity controversy?
if you're not up to date the tldr is that starting in 2024 Unity will be charging developers $0.20 per game install for any reasonably successful game unless they pay $2k / year for a Unity Pro subscription, which will lower this fee to $0.10 per install. this fee is per install, not per game purchase.
would you advise developers to continue using Unity, and if not, which engine do you advise they switch to? any thoughts on Unreal vs GameMaker vs Godot?
