If only know Tagalog as your point of reference, boy you're going to have a hard time. Try Karay-a, Bisaya and Hiligaynon for size. The ones in the northwest are a bit close too, with their hard and thick intonations. Now, I'm not saying all Austronesian languages are easy to learn, because I'm sure as fuck I won't be able to get Tongan or Hawaiian any time soon.
