I don’t think all the newer material is bad, but I don’t like all of it either and kinda preferred some of the more grounded elements in older content. Moreso, if you’re starting from FGO, the truest of oldfag fate/tsukihime/type moonfags are probably rolling in their graves/coffins at how much of a secondary you are, because you were already a secondary if you didn’t play the VNs all the way back then. t. started with Stay/Night in High School, there was no Tsukihime anime
