I really do think It's a combination of her having some complicated defensive mechanisms that get triggered under certain contexts and interactions. It's going to be really interesting to see how those conflicting aspects of her personality come to a head and are resolved. It might be better if she could do it more privately but then, she chooses to put herself out there in all her compensating for feelings of vulnerability and it may well be something that will help others recognize and come to terms with similar issues. There's actually something called Heyoka medicine that one could argue she embodies on that level.
